Jurassic Park by Michael Cricton

Jurassic Park is a classic science-fiction book.  The famous paleontologist Alan Grant is asked by a wealthy dinosaur fanatic, John Hammond, to come visit his private island.  All Hammond tells Grant is that it will become an amousment park for kids around the world.  But once Grant arrives at the island with his assisstant Ellie, they realize that Hammond has done the impossible.  He's re-created dinosaurs!  Hammond has also brought along Ian Malcom, an intelligent mathmatician, and his two grandkids Tim and Lex to experience the incredible.  However, when they all go for a tour around the animals, things start to go wrong from the beginning.  Now everyone's lives are in danger and must find a way off they island before the dinosaurs get to them first.  I recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi and has the patience to wait until chaos insues. -Matthew G, Period 3

  2. I have seen the movie, but never read the book. I am sure that it is just as good if not better than the movie. Like you said, this is a "classic" that everyone should read/see at one point or another. If you did see the movie, how was it different than the book?

  3. Like Jordan, I have seen the movie but not read the book. I fully intend on reding this book due to how much i enjoyed the movie. The movie was very suspensful and I am curios as to how the author may demonstrate suspense in this book.
