Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

In a futuristic world, firemen start fires rather than putting them out. The people in this society do not read books, enjoy nature, spend time by themselves, think independently, or have meaningful conversations. Guy Montag is a fireman who burns books. Montag meets a seventeen-year-old girl named Clarisse McClellan, who tells him that in the past people read bboks and were creative. He finally realizes the government is corupt when a woman gets killed by the firemen while trying to destroy books. Being curious he then brings a book home and then his life spins out of control after that. This book is a timeless classic that everyone will love. - Cody H. per. 12

  1. I have read this book and would recommend it to anyone who has a taste for reading excellent books. I personally found the plot of the book very hooking, and I was just intrigued by the fact that a society that burns books could exist.

  2. The story line of this book is very odd but also interesting. One would think that a story dealing with firemen would have some sort of heroic plot but this one seems to have the opposite. Also, it's crazy how reading one book can completely change someone's world. This definitely Sounds like a great novel.

  3. I loved Fahrenheit 451! It was a little confusing at first for me (I read it about two years ago), but once you get into the plot, it's intriguing. I really like how it poses those "what if" questions in the our reality. After reading Farenheit 451, it does make you truly appreciate books for what they are & the story they have to tell.

  6. This book sounds really suspense and odd at the same time. Why were firemen burning books and how did the government become corrupt? Also what happens after Guy Montag reads the book; does he uncover a lost secret or something?

  10. This book kind of reminds me of The Giver because in that book, society was much different than it is today as well. I like reading about things that are very out there and far fetched because it makes me compare the book to the real world. This book looks like its filled with action and would hold my attention.

  11. This book looks very interesting, its about a different world where books are burned. It reminds me off a movie where a group of people couldn't play music. It also looks good because he decides to take a book, and I want to know what happens when he reads it/ what he does with the book.

  12. This book looks very interesting, Cody. I have heard of the author, Ray Bradbury, several times before. I believe that we read this book in the high school in 10th grade as a class read. I was kind of sad when Bradbury passed away a couple of weeks ago.

  14. I remember reading this book over the summer. It wasn't too boring and wasn't too wierd like most futuristic books. It's really sad that Bradbury died. His other books were also writen well.
