Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass

Jeremy Fink and the Reading of Life, by Wendy Mass, is a very intriguing book. A month or two before his thirteenth birthday, Jeremy receives a package addressed to him. The directions say that he must open the mysterious box on his thirteenth birthday, and that the meaning of life is inside it. There is only one problem, though, the box is locked and there are no keys. Jeremy sets out on the adventure of his life with his best friend Lizzy to find the keys. Anyone who likes Jerry Spinelli or Judy Blume will definitely not put this book down. Anyone else (especially those interested in the true meaning of life) will most likely not put it down either.

  3. This was my favorite book as a kid. I'm a little sad that is has a movie now considering that movies based on books are usually bad.

  4. I loved this book when I read it a couple years ago. I thought his mutant candy collection was cool, and loved how strong the bond between Lizzy and Jeremy was. I definetly reccomend this to anyone looking for a heartwarming and thought-provoking read.

  5. WoW the author leads you on an expedition. I like how the box is locked and finding the keys is his only option. Isaac Chang Per 12

  6. I have heard a lot of great things about this book. The author's creativity leads us everywhere and makes me personally wish i had this type of mystery to solve in the real world. I also have to say that this author has a huge imagination. When she came in to talk to us, she shared some of her other novels and the whole time i was wondering how someone could possibly come up with these stories. Props to her!

  7. Wendy Mass is a great author, and I think this book truly reflects her inner colors. She didn't make the plot too cliche, which I respect. Just reading the first few words of the book caught my attention, and I got to sigh in relief when Jeremy stated that he wasn't in love with Lizzy. Did you hear of the movie? I wonder if it captures the sole message of this novel well. I plan on seeing it when I have the chance!

  9. I want to read this book to find out if Jeremy finds the keys. I also wonder what the meaning of life is. Hopefully if I read this book, he does get the box open, and I too can learn the meaning of life.

  12. This book seems really interesting! I wonder what Jeremy will have to do in order to find the keys. I remember seeing this book on the Power Point when Wendy Mass came to speak to us and the cover seemed interesting. I'll definitely have to read it before the movie comes out! 13. I agree with all of you. This book is a very good read. Although, I am only halfway through, it is still very catchy. As Angela pointed out, the mutant candy collection is cool. When the author came in to talk to us, I was wondering where she got this idea from. I thought the movie trailer and the actor for Jeremy was kind of corny.
