Lone Wolf by Jodi Piccoult

Jodi Piccoult is my absolute favorite non-series author. All of her books involve court, yet none of them are boring court case novels. Lone Wolf depicts a man named Luke Warren, who lived with wolves and also was the father of Cara Warren. Luke and Cara had been in a car crash, because of some reason that is first kept hidden from readers. Cara and her long-lost-brother have a say in continuing Luke's life support. To prolongue a life, or to let a wild man die with dignity? That is the question two young adults must answer. Filled with secrecy and teenage tenacity, Jodi Piccoult's newest novel is as riveting as any of her others! ~ Emily P. per.3

  1. Luke Warren sounds like he is a very brave kid to live with wolves in the woods

  4. I like the idea of this book, it sounds addicting. It seems kind of ike the whole issue in My Sister's Keeper (to save a life or not to save a life). does it remind you of any other books or movies?

  5. This book does sound very interesting! Nineteen Minutes is another great book to read. Jodi Picoult shares a plot similar to the Virginia Tech shooting in which she also ties in a court case but it is not one that will bore you out of your mind. I'm sure you'll love it!

  6. The story sounds very interesting, Emily. I especially like how the author, Jodi Picoult, uses the symbol of a lone wolf to depict Luke Warren. I will try to read it!

  7. Like you, I'm also a big fan of Jodi Picoult books. I like her writing style with different persepectives and the usage of various fonts for each character. The last one I finished was "Second Glance" which actually dealt with (believe it or not) paranormal activity. Reading it at night even game the chills, to my surprise. It was unlike her typical books too -- maybe you could check it out!

"Lone Wolf" sounds like engaging! I think I'd enjoy this book because of its connection to nature and well...because it's Jodi Picoult!

  8. What level would this book be at? I had always tried to read books by her a few years ago but could never understand exactly what she was saying because of all the words that connected back to medical terms. After that, I had gave up on her books even though I've heard that the majority of her books are absolutely heart-moving.

  9. This sounds really good! I really like this author's books but haven't gotten a chance to read this. The plot sounds really interesting, and even the fact that the dad lived with wolves sounds crazy. I'm definitely going to read this!

  10. As a reply to you guys:
Yes, I have read all of her books. They are all awesome.
The book has a lot of coma and hospital related terms, but mostly it explains about Luke's life with the wolves and his relationship with his family.
Also, John Green has just surpassed Jodi Piccoult on my favorite authors list.

  11. I can't believe a man actually lived with wolves! I'm curious as to what the car crash has to do with the plot as well. My favorite book, The Pact is by Jodi Picoult and I think she is a fantastic author. I definitely want to check this book out.

  12. I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult books, but I haven't read this one yet. This sounds so interesting! I'm curious already on why the car crash is kept hidden, and how it changes the plot. I will definitely read this soon! Kristen Connolly (period 3)
