Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
For all the holdouts out there, I have one thing to say… READ THE HARRY
POTTER SERIES. The first book of this
series is Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer’s Stone. Since almost
everyone knows what the plot of this book consists of, I will summarize it in a
few sentences. Harry Potter learns that
he is a wizard, begins to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and
makes some new friends. Harry Potter’s
parents were killed by the Dark Lord Voldemort when he was a baby and,
ultimately, they sacrificed their lives so he could live. At Hogwarts, Harry and his friends must face
many conflicts, but in the end, Harry may just have to face his enemy. I recommend this book to anyone who has seen
the Harry Potter movies, but has not read the books. The books are more detailed, more
descriptive, and, overall more enjoyable than the movies. Even if someone did not see or did not enjoy
the movies, I still highly recommend at least trying to read the books, as they
provide different aspects of the plot that the movies didn’t offer. Anyone who
enjoys reading fantasy type novels will also enjoy this series. Overall, everyone who has been holding out on
reading this series is missing out on books than are much better than their
corresponding movies. –Nick K. (Per. 7/8)

I LOVED THIS BOOK... as well as the rest of the series. It would also be helpful and fun to look up all the mythological creatures that show up in here for further reading.

Harry Potter is probably the series that every teenager has to read. I feel like the books did such a better job helping the reader escape into the magical worlds of Hogwarts and wizards.
