The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
A fun-filled adventure in which Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are sent to play the Hunger Games, in which they are to overcome many obstacles to be the last one surviving out of 24 total competitors. Will they come out of the maze alive or will darkness foreshadow their deaths? I would recommend this book to anyone of any ages who loves adventure and suspense. This book is filled with tons of adventurous and suspenseful events, along with some gory deaths. If you like adventure or suspense, check this book out! ~Suchir K. per. 7/8

What did you think of the movie?

This book was really really good and you should definitely read this. The movie was great too but I was disapointed that they left things out. Also, I think the cast did a great job. Jackie M. Period 2
ReplyDeletePeople might say this book is a copy of another, but I think it's interesting and unique in its own way. The story might be similar, but characters can change a book even if stories may be the same.

This is book sounds really good unlike what many people that have read it said. It presented a unique look at the future. I wish i had read it before watching the movie, maybe i will do that with the second book.

DeleteThe book sounds great; I watched the movie and loved it too. But I also think its unfair how people from each district have no choice but to participate in the "Hunger Games."
ReplyDeleteMerna Kamel (Period 12)
I read this book and I thought it was pretty good. The movie was a pretty good one in comparasion to many other book to movie conversions. The movie, in my opinion accurately portrayed the book.

The plot of this novel was phenomenal. I can't comprehend how someone could possibly be so creative and create this crazy world. However, i do have to say that at certain parts i did get bored but the overall story was great. Now i can't wait to watch the movie! What are your thoughts about the screenplay?

I, personally, have never read the Hunger Games or the movie, because I thought people sometimes obsess over it to much. However, reading the post and some of your comments, it sounds so much better. I have to read it so I'm not left out of the action!

This book was phenomenal! The plot, character development and romance was equally incorporated into this amazing novel. I finished this book in a day because i just couldn't put it down!

The movie was good but I think they left out one of the most suspenseful moments in the book. The movie barely referenced her dying of dehydration and starvation. Cody Haws Per.12
ReplyDeleteI read this book when it first came out, way before everyone started obsessing over it when the movie was about to come out. I fell in love with it automatically and I rushed to get the second book, Catching Fire, and couldn't wait for the third one, Mockingjay, to be published. It is currently number one on my list of favorite books.

I too have read this book. It is amazing. Much of the developments were missing in the movie version thought it captured the plot quite well in the short 2 and a half hours. I highly recommend this book and continuations. its a beautiful story that anyone will enjoy.

This was a wonderful book! It sparked the bomb of the newly popular genre of dystopian societies and rebellions, along with a cliche romance that grows between characters. It was hard to portray everything from the book into the movie but the plot and adventures of this series are definitely ones to keep you on the edge of your seat when reading.
ReplyDelete-Carly Torrado (Period 4)
This series is a really hyped series but i really never got interested in the book.
ReplyDeleteConor McCann Period 12
It is a great series. I have finished the first book, and I am looking to read the second one. I hope the second book is as great as this one.

I loved this book! It is a great page-turner, as it is well-written and very gripping. I especially loved how Collins turned stereotypes upside-down with the inclusion of girls as equal players in warfare and violence. You see Katniss portrayed as a strong heroine in the series, instead of a typical damsel-in-distress. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. It is by far one of my favorite series!!

One really big question for you is that how is the movie different from the book? and which one was better? i herd that the book was better because it had more detail.
ReplyDeleteJoshua Barkoff (period 2)
I always wanted to read this book, but their was always such a long wait list at the library for the book that I honestly never though it was worth wait for. Maybe I'll read it this summer.
